A 2007-born standout and captain at Hotchkiss, Chakib is taking his perfect 4.0 GPA and versatile skill set to Utah Tech University. Learn more about this major D1 signing!

FMSpro is proud to announce the signing of Chakib Bassou to NCAA Division I Utah Tech University. Chakib, born in 2007, plays with Blainville both at the Ligue1 and U19 levels, as well as serving as the captain for Hotchkiss School. This 2007-born player is extremely technical and can play anywhere from outside back to winger. Chakib is a very smart player and always knows where he needs to be on the field. Chakib’s soccer IQ makes him special and unique to many college coaches.

Chakib is also an excellent student off the field, maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA. The head coach at Utah Tech is Jonny Broadhead. Coach Broadhead, who is coming off winning WAC Coach of the Year, is very excited about the addition of Chakib and thinks he will certainly be able to make an impact. Utah Tech finished a very strong season where they finished 2nd in the conference and were knocked out in the semifinals. Chakib will look to take his game to the next level as Utah Tech continues to build and compete for another championship. With the WAC being dissolved and the move to the new Mountain West Conference, Coach Broadhead looks to bring in players who can help compete and believes Chakib will be a great addition.

Big congratulations, Chakib, and wishing you all the best!
