FMSPRO is proud to announce the commitment of Maya Calvo to the University of Ottawa, where she will continue both her academic and athletic career with the Gee-Gees.

Currently playing for Burnaby FC, Maya is a highly technical and intelligent defender who excels as both a centre back and an outside back. Burnaby FC is coming off an outstanding season, having captured the BCSPL Championship and qualified for the National Championships.

Maya’s composure on the ball, exceptional vision, and high soccer IQ make her a valuable presence in the back line. Defensively, she is strong, competitive, and fearless in one-on-one situations, never hesitating to make a tackle or use her physicality to win possession. Her versatility and ability to read the game allow her to contribute effectively at multiple positions across the defensive line.

The University of Ottawa is led by Head Coach Steve Johnson and competes in the Ontario University Athletics conference, widely regarded as one of the most competitive conferences in U SPORTS. Maya will be an excellent addition to the Gee-Gees as they continue their pursuit of an OUA Championship.

Off the field, Maya is equally impressive. She is an outstanding student who has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA, demonstrating the same commitment to excellence in the classroom that she brings to the pitch.
