FMSPRO COMMITS
McKenzie Newcombe to Sam Houston University

FMSpro is proud to announce the signing of McKenzie Newcombe to Sam Houston University’s NCAA Division I program.
McKenzie, a versatile and physical 2009-born defender for the Burlington Bayhawks in the OPDL, is capable of excelling as both a fullback and center back. On the field, she’s known for her ability to break lines and push forward, creating attacking opportunities from the back. A tough defender, she tackles with power and precision and is rarely beaten in one-on-one situations. Her technical skills and composure in tight spaces also make her an asset in possession.
Off the field, McKenzie maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA, balancing her academic excellence with her athletic commitments.
Sam Houston Head Coach Kendall Ayers expressed excitement about her addition, noting: “McKenzie is exactly the type of fullback I like to have on my team.”
McKenzie is the first commitment for Sam Houston’s Class of 2027, and her versatility will allow her to make an immediate impact in the highly competitive Conference USA.
Congratulations to McKenzie Newcombe! We wish her all the best as she begins her next chapter with the Bearkats.
