FMSpro is proud to announce the commitment of Sophia Maga to NCAA Division I Long Island University.

Sophia is a tall and smart centre back who currently plays in the OPDL for Hamilton United, as well as in the ECNL for New York Flash. Sophia isn’t afraid to win aerial duels and is quite mobile and technical for her size. Off the ball, Sophia works very hard and is known as a very consistent defender.

While several schools showed interest in Sophia, Long Island University checked off exactly what she was looking for, both academically and athletically. The head coach at Long Island University is Jim O’Brien. The Sharks are looking to rebuild and compete for an NEC Championship, and hopefully, Sophia can play a big role in that.

Off the field, Sophia is also an excellent student in the classroom.
